The registration page for the 1st Naeldor session is up. We use this to determine how many can play, so we're not scrambling at the last minute to see if we have enough. For this reason, please sign up at least 8 hours before game time (but the sooner the better). After that point, you won't be able to sign up on the page.
Check back here during the week, as there will be some important information coming up, such as the pwc file (a file needed in all NWN2 multiplayer games), some DMFI info on how to add functionality into the game, and some general guidelines and info.
The final week of pregame roleplay is going on in the forums now. Newly joining players will have a chance to catch up on the roleplay bonuses, with extra posts.
If you didn't notice, the forums have a new look. I have ported the old forums over to an upgraded version. Not to bore with the details, but the old forums were based on a system that really wasn't supported any longer. The new forums are based on a system that took the old system, and reworked it. So, it will work pretty much the same as it did before, but once I get it running properly I'll be able to do some more things with it. I put it back up so you could post, but you'll have to get into the forums for now through the link in the menu to the left. The feeds in the right menu won't work yet, and links at the end of news items might be broken for a while. UPDATE: All seems to be working as it should, but I'm sure there are glitches. Let me know if you find any. Bear with us. I might change the forum color (Changed), and I already widened the forum to make it easier to read (the right column that is on most pages of the site won't be there on the forum page). Also, you may want to hold off on uploading an avatar to the site, as that might not stick until I'm done the upgrade. (Avatar uploads seem to be working now. You can upload an avatar via either the avatar link towards the top of the profile page, or via the My Profile link in the User Menu on the left.) (Discuss this article on the forums)
The roleplay forums are now open. You can head over to this thread, and get an experience point bonus for participating in the roleplay forums leading up to the kickoff date. The bonus given to those participating is 100 experience points per week, with the first week running from today (Saturday, April 21) through Sunday, April 29. Weeks will start on Sundays thereafter. It only takes one post per week to get the bonus, but certainly more posting is encouraged. The purpose of encouraging participation in the roleplay forums is to foster continuity between sessions, and the purpose of encouraging it now is to get everyone in the habit of posting, and to get us all familiar with one another and with all of the characters before we start. I will be filling some spots in the campaign right away, and holding onto a spot or two a bit longer in the event that Tunari or Tymesage check back in. New players joining later will have an opportunity to catch up on the roleplay bonuses. So, gentlemen, start your engines.
For the first preview of the upcoming Fate of the Heaven Slayer Campaign, we take a look at Pinevale, the village on the western edge of Elik where you are headed. We also meet Tellam Arna, one of the travelers sharing your wagon as it heads towards its destination. Head over to the preview page for more information.

It's official - Atari has announced an expansion to NWN2, but it is not "Legacy of the Gith." Instead, it is Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer. The press release says, in part, that "players are transported back to the Forgotten Realms shortly after the events detailed in the original Neverwinter Nights 2. Following the climactic battle against the King of Shadows, the player awakens alone and stranded deep beneath the earth. Surrounded by a horde of evil spirits, the player embarks on an epic adventure that reveals his true destiny." The expansion, which is due for a fall release, will also include "epic levels; dozens of new feats and spells; new races, base classes and prestige classes; new companions; new weapons, armor and crafting options; hordes of new monsters; and enhanced modding tools." {mos_fb_discuss:14}
It is a big day for Neverwinter Nights 2 news. In addition to the leak of news about the expansion (see below), patch 1.05 was released today. The patch notes discuss numerous bug fixes and some additions, the most notable being a beta implementation of Multi-Select. This is available in the game client and the DM client, and allows for selection of party members with mouse commands and with a "lasso", it seems, as in Baldur's Gate. This is invaluable in the DM Client, and handy for the control of companions in the game client. As far as patching for our weekly playthrough of the boxed campaign, I will make a decision in a few days, after I see what sort of stability reviews the patch gets. {mos_fb_discuss:14}
EDIT: Obsidian has pulled the patch temporarily due to some issues it created with the toolset.
