Login to the old forums is now enabled, in case you wanted to check your posts in your old private forums.  Prior to the first time you try to login to the old forums, you will need to clear you naeldor cookie, and also your cache/tempoary internet files.  If you don't, it will try to redirect you to the old location (which is empty now).

The first toolset screenshot is up.  This is the starting village for the Naeldor campaign, tentatively called Pinevale.  It is in the mountains, in the Duchy of Elik .  This is a work in progress, especially considering it is the first area I've built in the toolset.  Please note that all gallery images can be viewed full size by clicking on the "full size" link above the image in the gallery.  Discuss .

We have transitioned to the new forums .  Please use them in place of the old forums, which are now read only.  (The old forums were moved again, due to me getting naeldor.com onto its own server).  Something in the server change made the old forums read only (you'll get an error if you try to sign in).  I've tried unsuccessfully to fix it, but since we were moving to new forums anyway, I have given up those efforts.

In anticipation of Neverwinter Nights 2, welcome to the redesigned site for the Land of Naeldor. I will be previewing information for the new campaign here, and will also post some "teaser" screenshots once the Toolset Beta nondisclosure agreement is lifted. A new poll is up on the front page - will you play the NWN2 official campaign?  Many people panned the original NWN campaign, but Obsidian seems to have focused more on the official campaign than on other components of the game, like the DM Client.  Let's hope that translates into a fun official campaign, without a tradeoff in the quality of the other parts of the game.

I've been participating in the toolset beta test.  Unfortunately, due to the nondisclosure agreement, that is all I can say.  I have ordered the NWN2 preorder, though, which comes with an early download of the Toolset (if purchased from Best Buy or Gamestop).  Once the download is available, I can release some screenshots from that, and my impressions with building with the preorder toolset.

Neverwinter Nights 2 will be here before you know it, so start thinking of those character concepts.  The campaign will start in a small village in the Duchy of Elik.  As you think of your character's background, think of a reason why you'd be in the small mountain village where the campaign will start. I haven't decided on the exact village yet. It is small enough that it probably won't be on the map anyway. Feel free to post any questions or comments in your private forum here, and I can work with you. Also, some of you may want to have your background intertwined with that of another player or players. That should be fine, so feel free to discuss it amongst yourselves.

If it helps you plan a character concept, the kernel of the plot idea in my head involves whisperings and rumors of a great prophet that has emerged in the mountains, traveling the peaks among the villages and keeps. Use it or don't use it in your character idea, as you see fit, and also remember that there is a chance it could change.

Players will start with all new characters, most likely at level 1. Keep that in mind when developing your character background (e.g. it is unlikely that a level 1 character would be a famous warrior with his own keep and army, etc.).
