You stand before Lomyril, apprentice to the great Gedoron Supris. Lindalas has just asked him if he knows of T'lithin Lake.
"Yes, T'lithin Lake is the old name for Lake Derek, named after the king of Elvenwood."
Lomyril beams, obviously quite proud of his knowledge.
"Why do you ask?"

"We came across a reference to an island hidden in the mist in that lake. An island that might be important in our current quest. Gedron has told you about it, has he not?"
Lomyril may be elven, but Lindalas has never been able to stand his pompous ... and figures some details are better left for Gedron's ears.[/i]

"Told me? I am quite well-versed in elven history and geography, thank you. Besides, Gedoron is not here, so you should be thankful that you have one as knowledgeable as me to provide this information. Why such an interest in Lake Derek?"

"We are very thankful for your help and your knowledge of elven history and geography is in no way in doubt.
I don't want to sound distrustful, but we can only talk about our mission with Gedron himself. If he had discussed it with you, you would probably be able to guess our interest. I know you can communicate with Gedron even when he is away. If you feel that it is important we can try that. Otherwise I'm sure he will fill you in upon his return."

Lomyril frowns, and then with an upturned nose, remarks, "Fine. Although I am certain that I could have answered your questons."
With that, Lomyril stalks the corner of the room containing the globe contraption with which Skotch was playing. The apprentice makes some gestures, mumbles some words, and the globe rises into the air, swirling. In its depths, you see the image of the archmage.
"Yes Lomyril?" As Gedoron speaks, you notice a chaotic but blurry scene behind him. You are unable to make out details in the swirling mists of the globe, but it seems like a battle is occurring, as you catch the occassional glimpse of humans, flashing steel, and fanged creatures.
"Those adventurers you spoke of have come to the tower," Lomyril begins. "They desire to speak with you."
During the exchange between Gedoron and Lomyril, it seems that Gedoron occassionally raises a hand, magically blasting one of the creatures that you can make out through the blurry globe. He does so casually, and does not seem distracted from his conversation with Lomyril.
"Ah, good. I am interested to hear how they made out."
A calm, reassuring smile comes over Gedoron's face as he looks past Lomyril to your party.
"Hello, my most able friends. How have your journeys treated you?"

Hrmm...
"Hrmm.. pardon me Gardoron, if you don't mind me asking, do you recognize the language this tome teaches? Its a very ancient language I know, but I don't recognize it," said Wilks as he opened the tome in front of the orb. Well he did have a obviously powerful and intelligent wizard here, might as well take advantage of the experience.

Gedoron squints to make out the lettering in the tome. A troubled frown crosses his face.
"Hmmm, I would need to study it to be sure, but it looks similar to a language used by a small, secretive group in the Pelwait area, many centuries ago. Their own secret language or code, in a way. I can't say much is known of that group, though, or their languge."
Gedoron pauses to launch some more spells at the creatures about him. Turning back to you, he speaks again.
"I take it you found that in your journeys? Speaking of which, how have you made out in the quest to recover the dagger?"

Miguel reads the note that Skotch recovered from the wagon:
" . . . should be preserved enough to make a worthy heart. The vessel might be found in Karom's Land, beyond World's End, where the end came."
He seizes the note and waves it around.
"I told you those guys were the ones who defiled the tomb - I bet their leader had the heart with him!"
He looks relieved and spends the next half hour muttering about how he was perfectly in the right to attack the departing acolytes.

*gasps in shock* I can't believe we let that evil blackguard get away!! Bree angrily paces back and forth as Miguel mumbles about how right he was. *mumbles* I can't believe I didn't realize it immediately as well. We MUST get that heart back! *shouts to noone in particular* There is no telling what evil he intends to unleash using Lockarm's heart! So much to do...so little time! We have to find that dagger..but..but...Damnit...we must get that heart back!!
