Having just recovered the Tome of Ages, rescued the deep gnomes, and learned of the travels of the clerics of the Faceless One to the Swamp of the Dead, you now stand before Sebo once again. Sebo twirls his fingers, then claps his hands, and a pile of gold appears before each of you.

"We thank you Lord Sebo. This is most generous of you. However, we would also be interested to see if you could do anything with your magic forge. Perhaps you could improve on one or more of our items? I know that Sissy has a rather dull old rapier that could use your magic touch."

Sebo taps his lips, thinking, but then frowns.

"I am able to enhance items of magic in this forge when there is an appropriate item to combine it with. Of course, that was before one of our magical smithing hammers was lost. That hammer enabled one sufficiently skilled to do remarkable things with this forge, and with a handful of other similar forges scattered about the upper land."

He thinks some more, than shrugs.

"Well, at least let me take a look at that rapier. I might not be able to improve it but perhaps we have something better we could give you."

Sissfus shrugs and waves his newest purchase around experimentally.

"Well, I did just purchase this new rapier from one of your merchants...far more effective than the old one I had I must say"

He digs around in his pack for a moment, and then comes up with small piece of crab shell that he pried from the corpse of one of those giant crabs. It smells a little, though most of the flesh has rotted away by now.

"I have heard talk of weapons that will do grevious damage to their targets more easily, though....I believe in going for the vitals of my enemy, rather than simply hammering away at them."

He pulls out Alantha and holds the dagger out as if to show something.

"Alantha seems to...miraculously even..hit the eney where it hurts most. Possibly because of how sharp she is? Perhaps it would be possible to use this" He holds up the crab shell "As hard and coarse as it is, to sharpen this new rapier to the same extent? Perhaps the forge could temper the blade some more also?"

He sheathes Alantha, and offers the rapier to Sebo.

Sebo frowns again.

"What do I look like, a fisherman??" He takes the rapier, though, and starts to examine it.

Sissfus eyes Sebo critically for a moment.

"Well, I do believe some of the others have dragon scales, if you'd prefer those, oh lord of illusions. You know, from the dragon that was going to EAT your subjects?" He trails off, muttering quietly about ingratitude.

Asia listens to the conversation,

"Hey..ahh..Sebo.., what do you mean you lost one of the magical smithy hammers? That seems to be a pretty important piece of equipment to carelessly loose. Was it stolen? I mean, if it was, and you have an idea of who stole it, maybe we can recover it.

It seems to me that you could help us a lot more if you had that hammer and could do some work for us on our weapons and armor, at a greatly reduced price of course. If we recovered it for you that is. Who was the last person that had the hammer?"

Asia rubs Silk's ears waiting for a reply.

Lindalas looks at Sissy and Asia and smiles. "I'm glad they picked up on this idea", he thinks to himself, "it isn't likely I could get any useful arrows out of it but if they are happy it is a good thing. Now if I could only find a fletcher of a skill equivalent of Sebo I'd be going nuts too."

Sebo looks at Sissfus, frowning again.

"With what I have, only items that are innately designed to go together can be fused into something. But, I do have something I can give you so that your weapon is a little more in line with those possessed by your companions."

With that, Sebo tosses the rapier into the air with his right hand. It disappears in a flash of light. Another flash of light appears above his left hand, and a rapier drops into it.

"Here, see how this suits you," he remarks with a wink as he extends it towards Sissfus.

He then turns to Asia with a sigh. "Well, if I knew what happened to the hammer, it wouldn't be lost, now would it? Ah, that hammer . . . well, I can't really say it was 'ours'." That thing has had a way of finding its way here and there over the ages. The dwarves weren't too happy 234 years ago when it found its way here, by way of some drow that we picked off sneaking about. Of course, they couldn't complain, because it came to them in a similar manner. But, they shouldn't worry, there's suppossed to be a few more hammers like it out there."

He then pauses, and looks at all of you.

"Now, don't get me wrong. I really appreciate all you've done in saving some of our people. But, we have rewarded you greatly, and there exist many wonders still for me to discover and invent, which I can't be doing if I'm somebody's common smith for hire, eh?"

Fine, it was just a thought Sebo. No need to get all dramatic about it. You had said that one of our magic hammers was missing. I didn't expect it was going to be you pounding away on my armor and scimitars. I thought it might be one of you people here that could do it. It seemed to be a mutually beneficial proposal.

I am glad we were able to help get your people back, and you were very generous. Thankyou

Asia kneels down and pets Silk while waiting for the others to finish their discussions with Sebo.

Frowns at Sebo again and shrugs, taking the offered rapier.

"Thank you, Sebo. Obviously you're not smith, I simply thought that since you HAD the forge right here, that it could be used"

With that he takes a few experimental swings of the rapier, and then begins to examine his new toy closely. Looking up, he smiles and shrugs...

"So, where to now?"

Asia ducks and leans away from Sissy a bit, "Hey!! watch it there Zorro!!" she says sarcastically, referring to an old story of a sword wielding hero of the people of the North.
"yeah, that's the pointy end..hold it way from me please"

She goes back to petting Silk, and they both eye Sissy with exaggerated looks of concern.

Skotch, having watched the transaction from his place on the side, approaches Sissy...

"So I guess ye won't be needing Alantha anymore eh?"

Sissfus sighs deeply and turns to Skotch.

"Unfortunately I will, Skotch" He says "Alantha has caused a great evil to my people...and I'm not going to let her get into trouble any time soon. When Lindalas is satisfied that it's safe to give you Alantha, then you'll have her. Not before. You trust him, don't you?"

He pauses and frowns for a moment....

"Besides...something that's this closely tied to us elves...I'm sure that it'll probably need an elf to activate her in times of great peril. You're...missing a few inches the be an elf" he says with a slight laugh.

"Fine 'den, lets git going, we're wastin time 'ere."
