Neverwinter Vault is reporting that Mask of the Betrayer has "gone gold," and will be released on October 9 in the U.S. (late September in Europe). In the game industry, "gone gold" means that the game is finished, and the gold master has been sent for replication. The story also reports that the game looks very polished, and will have over 25 hours of gameplay in the single player campaign. So, a little over 3 weeks to go until it is in our hands. {mos_fb_discuss:14}

The official
So, 1.07 beta is here. If past release schedules are any indication, we are still at least a couple of weeks away from 1.07 final. This patch is very tempting, though, especially from a DM perspective. There is also some content that could affect everyone. Some people are reporting some pretty dramatic performance improvements over in the NWN2 forums, on both old and new machines. Other examples of changes include the knockdown feat, which now has a 2 round cooldown period (i.e. you can't continuously be knocked down, or knock an enemy down). This patch contains the new camera modes that will be included with Mask of the Betrayer. I'm very tempted about the possibility of using the beta . . . but that's just my perspective. I wouldn't consider using it unless everyone wanted to use it. Two other notes- there is a reverter patch to 1.06 which is a 93 MB download, and the beta patch is a 43 MB download. What does everybody else think? Check out the new poll to the right.
