I've added a feature to the website.  Whenever a news item is posted, a link to a forum thread will be created automatically.  As you can see at the end of this news item, the link will also indicate how many posts are in that thread.  As the campaign start approaches, this automatic functionality will make my life much easier.  That was the whole point of the site overhaul in the first place - while I initially created the site because I thought (correctly so, it turned out) that it would help give us some cohesiveness and focus, I needed something more automated than the old site, so that I could spend more time building.  Now that the back end of the site seems to be running smoothly, this should be the case.  {mos_fb_discuss:14}

There are at least two posts in the official NWN2 forums by posters with NWN2 badges (meaning they've registered their CD keys, and hence have received their copies of the game) indicating that either the game has shipped with a beta version of the DM Client on it, or that it was available in a patch right away.  Which of the two wasn't clear in the posts, but the good news is obviously that there is a DM Client.  The posts from the official forums are here and here.  Discuss in our forums.

With Neverwinter Nights 2 being released on Tuesday, and in stores either that day or the next, the question arises- are you changing your schedule as a result?  Registered users can vote in the new poll to the right, and discuss in this forum thread.

NWN2 is available via Direct2Drive.  You can buy and download it now, and then activate it on release day, but from what people are posting in the official forums, this is not a good idea.  Evidently, in other games Direct2Drive puts out its own patch downloads.  If this is the case in NWN2 (remains to be seen), there could be a delay after an official patch, and you wouldn't be able to play with the rest of us who patched via the official channels.  Discuss in the forums.

There is now a thread in the forums to discuss how many players we will  have in the campaign.  This is an important consideration now, as the campaign is constructed.  As noted in the thread, there are pros and cons of large vs. small groups.  Please go there and discuss your opinions concerning what you think the ideal party size should be.

As the clock ticks down to release day, the official manual for Neverwinter Nights 2 is now available for download at NWN2Wiki.  It is in PDF format, comes in several different languages, and can be found here.  The English version is an 81 page document.  If you'd like to discuss the manual, you can do it in this forum thread.

Neverwinter Nights 2 has gone gold, which in the software industry means that a release build has been approved by the publisher, and a copy (the "gold disc") sent off for duplication.  The U.S. release date is October 31, and the European release date is November 3.  You can read the official press release here .  Discuss in the Naeldor forums.
